A 31-year-old man has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of Piotr Pruszak in Coxford, Southampton. Marcin Buryta is appearing at Southampton Magistrates Court today.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary responded to an emergency call at approximately 8pm on Wednesday, 11 February, after reports of a man suffering a gunshot wound at a residential property on Conifer Road.
Emergency services discovered Mr Pruszak, aged 45, with life-threatening injuries upon arrival. Medical treatment was administered at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Mr Pruszak’s next of kin have been notified and are receiving support from specialist family liaison officers within the constabulary.
Following a detailed investigation, Marcin Buryta of Conifer Road, Southampton, has been charged with murder and possession of a prohibited firearm. He was remanded into custody ahead of his court appearance on Monday, 16 February.
The investigation has led to two further arrests. A 57-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman have been detained on suspicion of aiding and abetting aggravated burglary. Both individuals remain in police custody whilst enquiries continue.
