CCTV appeal over racial abuse on Fareham-Whiteley bus

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to regarding a racially aggravated public order incident on a bus between Fareham and Whiteley.

Can you identify this individual?

Officers are seeking to speak with this man following reports of racial abuse on a First Bus service (route 28) travelling between Fareham and Whiteley.

The incident occurred between 7.30am and 7.40am on Wednesday 18 June and involved two passengers. During the journey, it is alleged that one man directed racial abuse towards another passenger.

Description of the man police wish to speak to:

  • White male
  • Medium build
  • Approximately 30-40 years old
  • Short blonde hair
  • Short facial hair
  • Was wearing high-visibility clothing
  • Carrying a rucksack

Officers believe this individual may be able to assist with their enquiries and are appealing for him, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward.

Police are also urging the victim of this incident to contact them as soon as possible.
