According to a statement on the Roads Policing Unit’s Facebook page, a pursuit ensued, with Dorset Police deploying a stinger device to puncture the car’s tyres. The driver, in a desperate attempt to evade capture, resorted to throwing objects at police vehicles and eventually drove off-road down narrow tracks.
Despite these efforts, the vehicle crashed. The driver fled on foot but was swiftly located hiding in an outbuilding with the assistance of police dog Ivan, his handler, and a drone unit. The suspect was arrested for multiple offences.
Police have confirmed the recovery of both the stolen ATM and the Audi RS4.
