Assault investigation Havant: Police appeal witnesses

Police are seeking witnesses after a moped rider was assaulted by five masked men and had his vehicle stolen on Swarraton Road, Havant, on Friday evening. The victim sustained head injuries during the attack.

Detectives are investigating the robbery and assault investigation Havant incident, which occurred between 6.10pm and 6.25pm on Friday, 6 February.

The victim had stopped his moped on Swarraton Road when five balaclava-clad men approached him. Three of the attackers were armed with knives, whilst another carried a baton.

The victim was struck on the head with the baton before being pursued along Lockerley Road. Upon returning to Swarraton Road, he discovered his moped had been taken.

He received hospital treatment for a head injury and other minor injuries sustained during the assault investigation Havant officers are now examining.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary detectives are conducting enquiries and urge anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly interested in CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from the area.
