A serial shoplifter has been given a suspended jail term and a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order after stealing more than £150 worth of goods from a store in Aldershot.
Karl Jennings, 39, of no fixed abode, took items from One Stop on North Lane in February. He pleaded guilty to six counts of theft from a shop at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Monday, 9 March, and received a 16-week custodial sentence, suspended for 12 months.
As part of his two-year Criminal Behaviour Order, Jennings is banned from entering any Aldi or Boots store across England and Wales. He is also prohibited from entering One Stop on North Lane and is required to place all items in a basket or trolley while shopping, and to leave any premises immediately if asked by staff.
Rushmoor Police Sergeant Lee Bishop said: “We know that Karl Jennings’ behaviour has had a huge impact on shops, staff and the wider community in Rushmoor. I hope this reassures the community that our officers will look at all of the options that are available to us, including the use of Criminal Behaviour Orders, in our relentless pursuit of criminals.”
