Portsmouth FC and Lucketts Travel are launching new coach routes for away supporters following feedback from nearly 800 fans. The East and West routes will debut at December’s Derby County fixture, with additional pickup points across Hampshire and West Sussex to improve accessibility.
Supporter Survey Shapes Travel Plans
The club conducted a comprehensive travel survey during the summer, with more than 200 respondents indicating they would use coach services if local pickup points were available. Analysis of supporter postcodes revealed significant demand in areas beyond Portsmouth, particularly in Havant, Chichester and Waterlooville.
Portsmouth FC away new travel routes directly address these findings, with Lucketts Travel introducing two distinct services for selected weekend fixtures.
Western Route Stops
The West route will serve supporters in:
- Locks Heath Centre
- Fareham, Quay Street (Stop X)
- Cosham Health Centre (Stop A)
Eastern Route Stops
The East route covers:
- Bognor Regis, Queensway (Stop E)
- Chichester Westgate Leisure Centre
- Havant Market Parade
- Waterlooville The Square
Petersfield and Winchester will feature on certain fixtures depending on match locations. The existing Express service from Fratton Park remains available, offering fans multiple travel options.
Accessible and Sustainable Travel
All new pickup points were selected for their proximity to public transport connections and parking facilities, making it easier for supporters to reach departure locations. Portsmouth FC away new travel routes also contribute to reducing the club’s environmental impact, as coach travel produces substantially lower emissions per passenger than individual car journeys.
Pricing and Trial Period
Fares will match those charged for Fratton Park departures, with Lucketts Travel absorbing additional operational costs during the initial trial phase. Booking details will be published through the club’s Away Travel section and official ticketing platforms.
