Aldershot woman admits car theft on Tongham Road

A 37-year-old woman from Aldershot has admitted stealing items from a vehicle parked on Tongham Road.

Charlene Ellacott pleaded guilty to theft from a motor vehicle after taking £10 cash, a bank card and a Nintendo Switch gaming console from a Ford car on 2nd November.

Police investigated the incident and subsequently charged Ellacott, who lives on North Lane in Aldershot, with theft from a motor vehicle.

She appeared before magistrates at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on 17th November, where she entered her guilty plea to the offence.

Ellacott is scheduled to return to the same court for sentencing on 13th January 2026.

The case highlights ongoing police efforts to tackle vehicle crime across the Hampshire area, with officers encouraging residents to ensure valuables are removed from cars and vehicles are securely locked.
