Basingstoke Magistrates' Court today: live court status
The HMCTS status board shows which case is in which courtroom at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court and the latest event logged for it. This page checks the board every 30 minutes on sitting days. A case appearing here is not an indication of guilt; "hearing finished" means the hearing ended and does not state a result.
No cases are showing on the board right now. The HMCTS status board runs from about 10am on sitting days, Monday to Friday.
How to read the board
- Plea and Trial Preparation
- The first Crown Court hearing after a case is sent up from the magistrates. The defendant enters a plea and, if it is not guilty, a trial date and directions are set.
- For Sentence
- A hearing at which the judge passes sentence after a guilty plea or conviction. It can be adjourned for reports.
- Case Started / Hearing finished
- Status board events. "Hearing finished" means that hearing has ended for the day; it does not state the outcome.
- Jury Retired
- The jury has gone out to consider its verdict.
