Overnight roadworks will install a temporary mini roundabout at the A334/A3051 junction in Botley from Monday 8 September to Friday 12 September, requiring three-way traffic lights operating between 8pm and 6am.
The five-night programme will see contractors establish the new junction layout to enhance traffic flow in all directions and facilitate construction of a permanent roundabout under the Botley Bypass project.
The interim mini roundabout arrangement will remain operational until late summer 2027 when the full scheme reaches completion. During this timeframe, the junction configuration may undergo modifications to accommodate various phases of bypass construction work.

Hampshire County Council granted approval for the bypass project earlier this year to alleviate local traffic pressures, particularly journeys connecting Southampton and the M27, by delivering essential additional road capacity. The development will deliver substantial improvements for Botley village residents and surrounding areas through reduced traffic congestion, lower noise levels, and decreased air pollution.
The temporary traffic management system will operate nightly from 8pm to 6am throughout the work period, with normal traffic flow resuming each morning.
