Family and friends are mourning several much-loved members of the community, with funeral details announced for Daphne Price, Barry Prosser, John Quane, John Buchanan, Kenneth Burbidge, Irene Bates, Sheila Hayden, Pauline Todhunter, and Olwyn Taylor .
- Daphne Margaret Price passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on 9th November 2025. Deeply missed by her husband Peter, son Barry, daughter-in-law Michaela, grandchildren Adele, Natalie, James, Ruby, George, Lucy, and many friends. A service celebrating her life will be held at The Oaks Crematorium, Havant, on Monday 1st December 2025 at 4pm. - Barry Michael Prosser sadly died at Tudor Lodge Nursing Home on 13th November 2025, aged 88. Loved and missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be on Monday 1st December 2025 at Portchester Crematorium, PO16 8NE, at 10.30am. Family flowers only; donations to Cancer Research are appreciated.
- John Edward Quane passed away on 4th November 2025, born 09/03/1940. Deeply mourned by loved ones, and now reunited with Hazel. Funeral service at Shedfield Cemetery on Wednesday 3rd December at 2.00 pm. No flowers, but donations to the Royal Marines Benevolent Fund are requested.
- John Bernard Martin Buchanan died peacefully in Royal Bournemouth Hospital on 9th November 2025, aged 91. Remembered warmly by wife Jenny, daughter Justine, and nephews. Memorial service on Monday 24th November at 1.00pm, New Forest Crematorium, New Milton. Family flowers only; donations to RNLI.
- Kenneth Brian Burbidge died on 13th November 2025 in Highcliffe, Dorset. Remembered as a devoted family man, freemason, and tennis player, he has donated his body to medical research and no funeral will be held.
- Irene Bates passed away peacefully aged 88, widow of Den and much-loved aunt. Her funeral will take place at Portchester Crematorium on Friday 28th November 2025 at 10:45am. Family flowers only; donations may be sent to Rowans Hospice or Breast Cancer UK.
- Sheila Elizabeth Mary Hayden passed away at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, aged 87, on 9th November 2025. Deeply missed by husband Peter and all in Bransgore and Burley. Funeral on Thursday, 27th November at 2.00pm, St. John’s Church, Burley. Family flowers only; donations for Julia’s House.
- Pauline Anne Todhunter died peacefully at home on 31st October 2025 following a short illness. A private cremation will be held. Donations in her memory can be made via Diamond & Sons, Lymington.
- Olwyn Taylor passed away peacefully aged 89 on 9th November 2025. The funeral is at Portchester Crematorium on Friday 5th December at 10:30am. Donations to Alzheimer’s Research UK can be made.
