Police Seek Witnesses After Southsea Incident

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old woman had her wrist grabbed by an unknown man at Canoe Lake, Southsea, on Sunday evening before a second person intervened.

Officers are investigating the suspicious incident which occurred at approximately 7:40pm on Sunday 17th August when the woman was at Canoe Lake and was approached by a man who spoke to her briefly before grabbing her wrist. A second man then intervened.

The woman sustained no serious injuries during the incident and both men departed the area shortly afterwards, heading towards Albert Road.

The suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • Bald
  • Large build
  • Aged between 30-40 years
  • Wearing a long military/cargo style coat and shorts

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have captured video footage or photographs of the man.
