Cyclist seriously hurt in Winchester hit-and-run collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run collision in Winchester on Tuesday morning. The man in his 50s was struck while cycling downhill.

The incident occurred at approximately 11am on Tuesday 26 August on the B3330 North Walls. The cyclist, travelling downhill, collided with a motor vehicle that failed to remain at the scene.

The victim sustained significant injuries to his ribs and back, though medical professionals have confirmed these are not life-threatening.

Officers are seeking a cream-coloured vehicle with an 07 registration plate containing the letter H, described as resembling a Ford Fiesta model.

Hampshire Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or may have captured footage on dashcam equipment. They are also urging the driver involved to come forward.
