CCTV Images Released After Hythe Mobile Phone Theft

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to following a mobile phone theft in Hythe, where a device was swapped with a box containing stock cubes.

Hampshire Police are appealing for information to identify a suspect following a theft incident on Ladycross Road, Hythe.

The incident took place between 3pm and 8.30pm on Monday, 21st July, when an unknown individual visited a residential property under the pretence of purchasing a mobile phone.

During the encounter, the suspect allegedly switched the mobile device with another phone box that contained stock cubes before leaving without making any payment.

Officers believe the individual captured in the CCTV footage can assist with their enquiries and are urging him to come forward. They are also appealing for anyone who recognises the man to contact police.

Investigators are seeking witnesses who may have observed the incident or noticed any suspicious activity in the vicinity during the specified timeframe. Police are particularly interested in obtaining any CCTV footage, mobile phone recordings, dashcam video, or doorbell camera material that could support their investigation.
